A Little About Me
Hi, I’m Shelly. If you’ve found your way here, there’s a good chance something in you feels heavy, lost, stuck, or missing.
And if that’s true, I want you to know—you’re not alone.
My Story
For many years, I quietly carried emotional pain alone,and watched my life continue to unravel no matter how many times I tried to start over. After every painful ending, I kept trying to move forward. I kept hoping a new chapter, a new relationship, a new direction, or a new version of myself would finally work out differently. But instead, each “new beginning” continued to end the same way.
And after a while, I began to believe that it was me. That something was wrong with me and I needed to be fixed. So, I tried to do better.
Be better.
Manage my emotions.
Change my thoughts.
Control my behavior.
But no matter what I tried, nothing ever seemed to create real change.
What Finally Shifted
There came a point where my life completely fell apart and I shut down emotionally, physically, and psychologically. That’s when I knew I had to find another way.
So, I began searching.
To make it make sense
.For something that would fill the emptiness.
For something that would last.
And overtime, answers began to come through different teachings, different experiences, different ways of seeing, and eventually, things became clearer. My attention began to turn inward. Not to just what was happening around me, but what was happening within me.
Instead of trying to push my thoughts and emotions away, I started to slow down and see what they were trying to show me. And the more I understood, the more choice I had in what I continued to believe, what I continued to carry, how I responded, and how I moved forward.
Through that process, I began to change. I started to feel more steady, more clear, more connected to myself. I began experiencing moments of deep peace, even when there seemed to be chaos all around me. I was no longer consumed by the painful emotions that once shut me down. Other people’s words or behavior no longer shook my sense of worth or defined how I saw myself.
The emptiness I had carried for so long began to fade, and for the first time in my life, I felt whole.
Why I Do this Work
Haven for Inner Stillness was created because I know what it’s like to feel alone in what you’re experiencing and not know how to change it.
To understand pieces of yourself, but still feel pulled into the same fear, the same ache, the same questions about your worth, and the same ending to every new beginning. To want something different but not know how to get there.
I also know—there is a way through. Not by trying to fix yourself, but by seeing beyond the parts of you that feel broken and lost and returning to the part of you that has always been whole.
